The Portland Pickles will become the first sports team to legally sell cannabis-infused drinks during a live sporting event. The Pickles announced a partnership with Cycling Frog, a cannabis company that uses hemp grown in Central Oregon, and will sell its THC seltzer throughout the rest of its 2024 season at every home game.

The drink contains two milligrams of THC and four milligrams of CBD and are nonalcoholic. THC is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, CBD is the non-psychoactive that often is linked to help pain, anxiety and epilepsy. Both are key ingredients in Cycling Frogs’ seltzers.

“The Portland Pickles are excited to provide an alternative option for drinking alcohol or alternative beverages,” says Ross Campbell, vice president of business development for the Pickles. “As we saw in 2019, becoming the first team to ever partner with a CBD company, and quickly teams all the way up to the Major League level across sports follow suit.”

The Pickles said they consulted with the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission and Portland Parks and Rec, which owns Walker Stadium.
