For years, concentrates have been made using a solvent, like butane, to extract THC and cannabinoids that result in the gold, ambery substance we “Dab.” Depending on the consistency, shatter, budder, crumble, etc., it can even be used to infuse prerolls/blunts to top off your bowl for a potent hit. In the industry and cannabis culture, those substances and products are referred to as BHO. Butane Hash Oil.

We, as consumers, have dabbled with BHO and have yet to consider where the taste of the plant has gone. For a long time, consumers wanted the most THC in their products. But with the advent of new research and the importance of aromatic compounds called terpenes, the new trend is to get something fuller, closer to the plant itself. Now, with innovation and repurposed technology, cannabis is “pressed” to give you a “solventless,” clean extract closer to the real thing.

Cannabis getting "pressed" to make Rosin.

For our all-new solventless line called Livin, we use Fresh, frozen flower from Pacific Reserve and Rio Vista Farms to ensure cannabinoids and trichomes are optimal when extraction begins.  The cannabis is then placed into a type of “press” that will apply pressure, and a certain amount of heat will result in a gold-like substance coming out of the press. Along with other proprietary steps, this is how solventless, clean extracts and Livin Solventless are made.
